KAZAKY: rise of the new breed.

Talking about being innovative and creative in the music and fashion industry, everyone would think about Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga here, Lady Gaga there.

But let me stop you right there.

This time, it's going to be different.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Let me introduce to you to the world's very first Fiercely Flamboyant group that breaks diversity, represents pure talent and will spearhead a new dynamic culture.

Innovation and creativity will have a new meaning.
High Fashion will have a new face.
Music will have a new sound.

This time, men of the new breed will rule the catwalk.

I said...this time it's going to be different.

This time, it's going to be Lady Gaga going gaga over....... KAZAKY!

Oleg Zhezhel assembled the Ukranian Dance Group

The spelling Kazaky that the group started to use in English is a variation of the last name Ken Kazaki - the main hero of the popular manga series "Legendz." The band members have repeatedly told in interviews that they are inspired by Japanese culture. -wiki

Here's their second single "Love".
Haute Couture all over!

Watch out for more!

TasteBuds

Food! Food! Food!

Here are some of the unforgettable food and drinks I have tasted in Singapore.

STEAMBOAT

It is a Chinese-style hotpot. You get to choose a variety of side dishes of raw meat like chicken, pork, beef, liver, minced balls, fish, squid (sotong) and vegetables. You can choose what flavor of soup to have like normal, spicy, Tom Yam and herbal. To cook it, you have to dip it into the hotpot which is kept simmering at a boiling temperature.

Usually it cost $15.00 - $30.00.
But look how much we got ours for!

Yes, only for $5.00.

I had the Prawn Set Meal in Herbal Soup

Paulo had the Fish Set Meal in Normal Soup

If you are not used to of sipping a hot soup, make sure to turn off the flames once the food is cooked.

Along with the Steamboat we bought a very refreshing SUGARCANE JUICE.
You can see how it is being prepared.

It is freshly squeezed in front of you.

BUTTERFLY BREAD

I never tried one before and it looks interesting to me!
It's just a simple bread made of flour, deep fried and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

I loooove to eat bread! It runs in our family.
I usually eat bread for desert!
It completes my meal.

DRAGONFRUIT & KIWI SHAKE

I never tried eating a dragonfruit so to satisfy my curiosity, I opted for a shake.
I had a mash-up of two fruits.
It has a mild taste, not too sweet.

NOODLE SOUP

Of course, something that I shouldn't miss -the noodles!

I had the QQ House Specialty.
You can choose to eat it with soup or just dry.
On the menu, they have beef as the main meat. Since I don't eat mammals, I requested for chicken.

The noodles was not overcooked which is really important.
The flavor was a bit bland but they have condiments wherein you can try to mix it to achieve the flavor of your desire.

請慢用 (qǐng màn yòng) - please eat slowly

Meeting Merlion

July 23, 2011

Finally I had a chance to meet this mythical creature.

The Merlion (MalaySinga-Laut) is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, used as a mascot ofSingapore. Its name combines "mer" meaning the sea and "lion". The fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, which means "sea town" in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore's original name — Singapura — meaning "lion city" or "kota singa".

WHAT'S THAT???

Look what I found in a magazine stand!

Fiona looks stunning!

Jessie looks old. Something's wrong with her pose. The dress looked cheap, it reminded me of my bedroom ceiling.

It's just odd to see both cover girls are wearing the same dress (D&G F/W 2011) for the month's issue.
What's worse? Both are on the same rack.

AMY WINEHOUSE

My one and only magazine with Amy on the cover. issue  1028 June 14, 2007.

July 23, 2011

I was in Singapore having a vacation when a friend told me via sms from the Philippines early in the morning telling me that Amy Winehouse is dead.

I knew it wasnt a joke.
But I still refuse to believe it.
After few minutes another friend sent an sms.

Amy Winehouse is dead.

I had few shots of JD, I went emotional for few minutes.
This is not happening.

For me, amy Winehouse is a walking powerhouse of talent.
When I first heard the song Rehab, it stuck on my head and it became my anthem.
I googled her and there I found someone who I want to be if am a woman. Easy breezy and one h*lluva genius!
At work I would play her video clips over and over again.
Though am bad in singing, I would sing in the bathroom trying to imitate her voice the best way I can.

I would draw her in the middle of our training when am too bored listening to our trainer.

One of my unfinished sketches of Amy way back 2009.

She pre occupied my mind.

I don't care what the people say about her.
I don't care how the media portray her.
For me, she was real, raw and uber talented.

The Beehive and the Cat's eye eyeliner.

To Amy, who inspired millions of people.
To Amy who made a difference and who is always true to herself and to everyone else.

The Legendary Amy Winehouse.
September 14, 1983 - July 23, 2011

To Amy, you will continue to live in our hearts.
